conservation photography

We all share responsibility in conserving the planet and the biodiversity on it. Preserving biodiversity is largely funded on the idea that by protecting ecosystem function, ecological services (i.e., clean drinking water) are sustained for the benefit of people. While this is a critical aspect, the purpose of biodiversity conservation stretches beyond human-centric views. Conservation to me implies caring for our surroundings regardless of the direct benefit to people.

Incorporating perspectives from peoples most impacted from climate change are key to conservation, and sharing science is fundamental to incorporating outside perspectives. The purpose of my work is to share scientific research of conservation leaders through photo storytelling with the hope that it will reach those most impacted and without regular access to scientific content.
